Steve Novak's future with the Bucks

Forward Steve Novak returned home on Feb. 21 when he signed a rest-of-season contract with the Milwaukee Bucks. Unfortunately, Novak played in just three games as he suffered a sprained left MCL that officially ended his season on Feb. 28. When asked, Novak says he would like to re-sign with the Bucks in July.

"Being home has been unbelievable," Novak tells the Journal Sentinel. "I see the team that we have and hopefully I can be a big part of that. I am a free agent this summer, but that's my goal (to stay with the Bucks)."

Novak, along with Miles Plumlee (restricted), Jerryd Bayless, O.J. Mayo and Greivis Vasquez become free agents on July 1. Novak is hoping his ability to make deep jump shots will convince the Bucks to offer him a new deal.

"I know I'm in the league because of the way I shoot the ball," Novak said. "There's no question about that. The game is going toward more and more three-point shooting. I don't think the Milwaukee Bucks is an organization that's blind to that."

Novak is a career 43.1 percent shooter from behind the three-point line.
